Too Early to Golf?

Some people say it's never too early in the season to start golfing, as long as the sun is shining. I'm here to tell you that's not true. Friday was supposed to be in the high 50's-low 60's so we went ahead and got a tee time. We probably shouldn't have gotten one so early in the morning (I thought 10:00 am would be safe) because it was SO cold. I had to laugh when I got up to the green on the 13th hole and found my ball on a small pile of snow. It gives new meaning to the word "snow ball". Yup, it might have been too early.

Another problem with the course was that it was totally covered with deer droppings. When we got to the 15th green, we found a family of 6 deer munching on grass and leaving little little pieces of evidence of their presence. I shot (with a camera, of course--I'm not John) a couple of the deer leaving the green and casually climbing up the mountain:

The week after next looks like it will give us some better weather. I'll just look forward to that. Maybe by then someone will have cleaned up all the deer poop! :)

Do you get extra points if your ball hits the deer??

Loved your flashback to "In fact I think I might." I was seriously LOL in a meeting today when I read that on my blackberry (with British accent). ;) I'm glad memories don't fade.
