38 Miles!!!

Today for our Saturday ride, I'm thrilled to announce that Kristina and I rode 38 miles!!!! This is us back at the car after we finished. We're pretty proud of ourselves, but still a little scared, since we have to ride 103.8 in just four weeks from today. Yikes.

Today's ride was an eventful one though. A few highlights included:
  • Passing some sort of Medieval Club or Wizarding Club holding some sort of overnight campground convention or tournament. They had on full wizarding garb (or Medieval garb, it was hard to tell). Every time we passed Kristina would say, in her best British accent, something like "Harry Potter!"
  • I narrowly missed being hit by a clump of sod from some Thanksgiving Point golfer teeing off above us. Looks like somebody might need a higher tee...
  • I also narrowly missed running over a snake on the trail. John was jealous.
  • We realized today that a lot of people in cars are not very nice to bikers. I think that everyone who drives a car should be required to ride a bike on the road, just to see how bikers feel. Cars are way bigger and can be scary, so please be nice to the bikers you see out there! One of them might be me :)
Speaking of bike safety and awareness, take the following Awareness Test and see how you do!

Let me know how you did!

We did get in a couple of extra runs earlier this week and were joined by Lisa, who is amazing. Little Red Riding Hood will be Lisa's fourth century, and she finished her last one in just 6 hours!! Here's some fun shots from a beautiful mid week ride:

Kristina and Lisa--love these girls! They make the long rides way fun :)

I didn't see the moonwalking bear the first time...I kept my eyes on the ball. which they passed 13 times! :)

Just think of how nervous I get in a bus with bikers on the road! I change lanes, man!
